John Murphy – 28 Weeks Later Soundtrack
February 8, 2008
Yesterday I saw 28 Weeks Later. The movie is very stupid, but I didn’t expect anything anyway. However, I think that the soundtrack is kinda cool. It’s Prog-Rock and the themesong sounds just like Explosions in the Sky. The whole soundtrack is made by a guy called John Murphy. He’s a film composer and that’s also what this album sounds like :) so don’t expect any complex-structured songs.

As you’ve adressed it’s a Zombie movie and usually there’s nothing to expect about such things. But I think 28 Weeks Later steps into a different direction compared to all those blood-filled classics from the 70s and 80s.
And so is the Soundtrack. Ever watched the opening scene where shots from a handy-cam and John Murphys Movie-Theme are combined? Where the only surviving guy flees from the hordes of the infected just after leaving his family back in their house where they all thought to be safe?
Anybody who doesn’t have an uncomfortable feeling in his or her stomach has to be one kind of a Zombie too. So…a nice movie and a nice score but both combined end up in a really emotional mixture.

Sure, that scene was kinda good. But the whole movie? naaah.
Can you remember the scene with that helicopter splattering all that zombies? hahahha, that scene is stupid :)
Okay, it may be a good zombie-movie, but it is still a zombie-movie. And I just dislike this kind of movies.
But this post is only about the music anyway.
